Four years ago, Davy Daems started the trendy and modern All You Can Eat concept Anders in Kasterlee, Belgium. The concept was an instant hit, as everything is done slightly different at Anders.
Here you can enjoy the flavors of the world’s cuisine. There are 60 different small dishes on the menu that guests can order at a fixed price. This way, guests can taste a bit of everything. Our beverage formula is popular among our guests as they have an unlimited choice at a set price. Guests can order all these items themselves via tablets.
The concept itself and the way we work set us apart. It’s a more exciting experience than in regular restaurants and the guests find that very appealing’, says Davy Daems, owner of Anders.

‘The tablet system is intuitively designed and convenient to use. Anyone can work with it. Even older guests who never used a tablet for ordering before, find it easy to us’, Davy points out.
‘Our guests are actually in control. They don’t have to wait for anyone to take the order but order themselves via tablet. They set the pace for the service and kitchen. And we save time and keep a clear overview. This creates a calm and relaxed atmosphere in the restaurant, allowing guests to fully enjoy their dinner.
The restaurant concept and our IT infrastructure have a positive effect on the guest experience. In fact, little can go wrong in operations and we have far more time for our guests. On an average evening, guests tend to order seven to eight courses. Therefore, we are constantly in contact with our guests which boosts guest satisfaction. We also have a service robot. That’s fun for our guests but also very practical.’
The obvious choice for Van Hessen
‘When we took over this restaurant in Kasterlee it came with an existing POS system. We soon realized that this POS did not match with our needs. We wanted a more extensive solution that allows self-ordering via tablets. At the time, there was no supplier that could meet our IT requirements. Except Van Hessen! For Anders Kasterlee, we decided to go for Oracle MICROS RES 3700 POS in combination with Jamezz. Jamezz is a smart self-ordering application. An integration also offered by Van Hessen.
The success of Anders Kasterlee led to the idea for a new establishment and this spring we opened our second restaurant Anders Begijnendijk. In this brand-new restaurant, we use Oracle MICROS Simphony POS and Jamezz. Simphony works even more intuitively than RES 3700. The system is very easy to use and also integrates seamlessly with Jamezz. The installation went very smooth. Van Hessen assisted us very well and we are absolutely satisfied with the result’, says Davy.
‘At Anders Kasterlee our license for the RES 3700 POS will expire in October. It’s highly likely we will choose Simphony POS here too. This way I can control both restaurants from one system and make modifications centrally.
Now that our second restaurant Anders Begijnendijk has opened, and business is running smooth, we expect our expansion not stop here. We are quietly looking for new opportunities. So, let’s see what comes our way. But at least we’ll have our IT in order by then’, Davy states.
